Receiving my MArch from Yale 25 years ago, I have been working primarily in high-end residential firms, handling a project from design through construction documents. I have a keen eye and excel at examining existing conditions, interpreting design sketches, composing exteriors, laying out interiors, and then detailing the heck out of a project. I am an excellent product researcher and read and interpret text very well, a handy skill when trying to decipher the Chicago Building and Zoning codes.
Staying at my last job for 10 years, I am a loyal and focused employee. I would like more Construction Administration responsibilities in my next position. Going to the site, I find contractor input keeps me learning and improving my design and drawing production. Though my technical abilities are old school, mainly 2d AutoCAD, I am currently learning REVIT and looking forward to building a 3D model with it. I have used Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator and SketchUp on an intermittant basis.
I am a creative person, always wanting to make something; I hope my next job has some creative outlets. I bring intelligence, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities to my work.
On my own time, I like to draw, make things, and repair stuff. Oh, and garden when spring finally comes to Chicago.
